JamaicanCoffeeClub’s coffee from the Blue Mountains of Jamaica has the flavors of its high peaks and forests. It’s both creamy and bitter, like the weather in the lush and emerald, and it is a well-rounded flavor, as strong as the farmers who grow the beans. Thanks to its range of tantalizing flavors, our coffee pairs both with sweet and salty.
Here are a range of 5 snacks that you can even do quickly at home for a fun cooking experience that will pair perfectly with our Blue Mountain coffee, bringing out all the flavors on the table.
Fried Plantains
Add more Jamaica to your coffee break with plantains. Plantains are larger and thicker than bananas and they are not as sweet.
The ingredients
- 2-4 plantains
- Butter or Vegetable oil
- Sea Salt
How to
- Start by cutting the plantains into thick pieces to make sure they don’t melt when you fry.
- Warm the oil or melt the butter in a nonstick skillet.
- When the butter begins to skimmer (make sure it’s not smoking yet), add the pieces of plantains.
- Let them cook and flip them for at least one minute or until their surface is golden.
- Put the cooked plantains on a paper towel while they dry and the extra oil absorbs.
- Once the plantains are cool, add all the sea salt that you like and put them on a platter.
Serve with a smoky and warm cup of our Blue Mountain coffee.
Coconut Bites
Coconut is another fruit from Jamaica and its sweetness pairs with the delicious acidity of the Blue Mountain coffee beans. The fun part of this snack? While we like the coconut bits to be chunky, you don’t have to buy and cut a whole coconut, just get a packet of shredded coconut.
The ingredients
- 2 cups of shredded coconut
- 2 tablespoons of honey
- 2-3 tablespoons of coconut oil
- Extra: vanilla extract
How to
- Put all the ingredients in a bowl and stir until you have thick paste.
- Let the paste rest at room temperature for 20 minutes or until it hardens.
- Use a teaspoon to create small balls, perfect for a sweet bite.
- Roll the tiny balls into more shredded coconut.
- Place the coconut bites in the refrigerator and keep them cool until you serve them.
Serve in a cute bowl and with a warm cup of our Blue Mountain coffee.
The Jerk Nacho
Jamaican jerk seasoning is a blend of spices and a kick of flavors, perfect to pair with the creaminess of our Blue Mountain coffee. You can find the Jamaican jerk at any of your local stores.
The ingredients
- Tortilla chips
- Cheese
- Any topping you love, such as ground beef or tomatoes
- Jamaican jerk seasoning
How to
- Start by putting your favorite chips on a baking sheet.
- Grate about a pound of your favorite cheese (which one would you choose?) sprinkle it all over the chips.
- Add the toppings you have chosen.
- Add as much Jamaican jerk seasoning as you can handle.
- Bake at 350° for up to 35 minutes.
- Once they are out of the oven, you can add extra toppings such as sour cream and avocado.

Jamaican Peanut Drops
Jamaica doesn’t just produce delicious coffee, but also peanuts. These drops are a traditional Jamaican dessert, sweet and yummy. People who are allergic to peanuts can substitute them with any other nuts, such as almonds or cashews.

How to
- First, get a full bowl of water to boiling temperature with the brown sugar.
- After the water is boiling, add the peanuts and the ginger.
