Matar paneer recipe

Ingredients

  • 2 whole green cardamom
  • 1/2 teaspoon cumin seeds
  • 1 medium onion
  • 1/4-1/2 teaspoon cumin powder
  • 4 large garlic cloves
  • 1-2 green chilies
  • 10 whole cashews
  • 4-5 black peppercorns
  • 1/4 teaspoon red chili powder
  • 3/4 teaspoon coriander powder
  • 1 tablespoon ghee
  • 1/4 teaspoon garam masala
  • 1-inch ginger
  • 2 tablespoons plain yogurt
  • 3 medium tomatoes
  • 1 bay leaf
  • 250 grams paneer
  • 1/4 teaspoon turmeric powder
  • 1 tablespoon oil
  • 1/2 teaspoon sugar
  • 1/2-3/4 cupgreen peas
  • cilantro

Steps

  • Soak the paneer and peas in warm water for 30 minutes.
  • Heat oil in a pan and add cumin seeds, cardamoms, and peppercorns.
  • Next, add ginger, garlic, onions, and green chilies. Cook for 5 minutes.
  • Now, add cashew nuts and tomatoes. Cook for another 7 minutes.
  • Make a smooth paste of this mixture and keep it aside.
  • Heat ghee in a pan and add bay leaves, red chili powder to it. Sauté well.
  • Now add the tomato paste and mix well.
  • Add other spices to the mixture along with yogurt. Keep stirring.
  • Now, add the paneer pieces and green peas. Cook for 8 minutes.
  • Sprinkle some garam masala and garnish it with cilantro before serving.

Paneer Butter Masala

Ingredients

  • 2 teaspoons oil 10 ml, divided
  • 1/2 inchcinnamon stick
  • 6-7large garlic cloves
  • 1 large white onion
  • 10-15 whole cashews raw
  • 2 tablespoons unsalted butter
  • 1/2 teaspoon Kashmiri red chili powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon cardamom powder
  • 1/2 tablespoon tomato paste
  • 250 grams paneer
  • 1 bay leaf
  • 3-4 cloves
  • 5-inch ginger
  • 3-4 large tomatoes
  • 1 cupwater 8 oz
  • 1/2 teaspoon red chili powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon garam masala
  • 1 teaspoon sugar
  • 3-4 tablespoons cream
  • 2 teaspoons crushed Kasuri methi
  • chopped cilantro

  • Heat oil in a pan and add cinnamon, bay leaf, and cloves.
  • Next, add garlic, ginger, and onion.
  • Add cashew nuts and tomatoes along with 1 cup of water. Cook for 15 minutes.
  • Grind this mixture and keep it aside.
  • Add butter and oil in the same pan.
  • Add red chili powder, Kashmiri red chili powder to it.
  • Add the tomato paste along with cardamom powder, garam masala, salt, and sugar. Mix well. Cook for 3 minutes.
  • Now, add cream, and panner. Cook for 3 more minutes.
  • Now add the Kasuri methi. Mix all well.
  • Garnish with cilantro and serve hot.
